My name is Yuhui Xie. I am a student and a new immigrant from south part of China. I came to this country with my parents. My goal of being in this great country is that I want my American dream to come true. After arriving in New York I decided to go back to school again and pursued my goal. Before I registering in BMCC I spent one year in high school and then I was forced to attend in GED program, since my age was over 21. I passed the GED tests within four mouths thereafter.my goal of being in BMCC is i plan to transfer to four years college and graduate from it. Although my English is not so perfect, I am still trying to work hard and doing my best to get to my destination. I love BMCC a lot, since it is my first colllege ever in the United States. I may want to be a cop because being a cop is one of my dreams. i am quite excited to serve in public and communicate between different peoples. Of coure, it is just my dream, and dream may never come true; however, I will try.
I have learned a lot from this writing class. I learned how to make a right point and develop the ideas and stories. Also, I learned how to do the research effectively and how to use computer to finish the electronic portfolios. However, I want you to read and grade only one of my papers because I think it represents my best work. I will include a description of my best paper, why I think it's good, what I learned from writing it, and how it changed from one verision to another.
90 Minutes Paper-YXie-Cinderella's Stepsister--This is the paper I am submitting to be graded for my final portfolio. The versions show I have improved the writing and enhanced of developing the idea. In terms of learning about writing, this paper gave me a greater idea of how I improve the writing skills. I think I did a good job of giving the real stories base on my personal experience, and I think I still need to work on the proofreading. I am writing this paper because it is a real story, that makes a large point. I include plenty of relevant and significant details in my story and try to really make readers see, picture, and understand what happened, to get the same feeling and response to the event and the point that I had
