Today I'm going to talk about the way that some of these professor grades students here at BMCC. Well to be more specific, the way my art teacher grades his class. At the beginning of the semester I thought I had it good when I found out that we(class) will only be taking two test and that is the mid-term and the final. The professor did not take time to explain that in taking these two test if you fail you just fail there are no make up exams, there are no extra credit assignments if you fail you will just fail. I think had he taken the time to explain this, everyone of us in art 181 would have dropped his class and went to look for a class that give a test every week rather that have the odds stacked against us.In this class he has this thing where he does not repeat himself to much, I understand that when you constantly repeat yourself you get frustrated but he speaks in a very articulate way which is a good thing but, if he lets a student answer and they speak in a very low tone than oh well it's just like that and that's not fair.

Upon giving us the syllabus he should have stated that these are the rules and I will not change them for anybody and you can either drop my class or you can stay in it and pray to god that you do a good job in here. If he would have gave us all the proper information on how his grading process would go down than I'm sure that we would have had a more positive outcome and all the final exam anxiety that myself along with my classmates are having wouldn't even be here.

I believe that the professor of the course should give a very descriptive form on how he or she will be grading the class so that we will know what to look forward to. Some profesors do give you a more clearer syllabus that thoroughly explains the expectations and the grading process.

For those professor that do it that way they need to go find my art 181 professor and show him how to grade students the right way. I won't give his name and I won't tell you his location is on the 1st floor the southside room 118(hahahaha) but I will tell you this, make sure that you are taking the right professor in your desired courses because some of them have a plan and that's to reel you in to their classes just to say that they have a full class room but once that classroom door is shut than your ass and your grade belong to that professor until the end of that semester.

So be very careful and cautious when picking your classes, make sure you know the professor and make sure that his or her grading system is one you can handle so you can avoid final exam anxiety.

Admin: You have some very valid points, but they need more development and stronger examples. Your proofreading also needs work on this one. The errors in grammar and mechanics are distracting. It looks like you needed to spend more time and effort on this.
