This quotation is so truth, because in my culture people believe whatever old people says. Whatever, experience our ancestor had became part of our culture.
For example, in Muslim culture people say that if a couple had three daughters in-row and then a boy, it's consider to be good luck to the family. The family gets rich and the boy is consider being lucky. This incident happened to my sister in-law family, and I also, heard that if a family had three boys in-row, then if a girl is born, it’s a bad luck. The family had lost in money, these are things said by old people who it really happen too. I think people make culture on what they have gone through or experience through their whole life.
Also, whatever my grand parents said to my parents, it’s right and they follow those rules. Then our parents pass the information to us and rules to us which we think is right too.. Then our experience will be passed to our children. Things said to us by our parents became part of Muslim culture and things said by old people are adding to the culture and in became part of the culture.
What experience our ancestor go through in their lives, and whatever the result is ,it became part of the culture. Culture is made by people experience’s and new generation follows it. For example, my parents think certain people are not good to talk too, but when I talk to them, they are so nice. Culture doesn’t come naturally, for us Muslim culture is follow by our holy book “Quran”. Which play an important role in Muslim culture and teach Muslim how to live their lives.
I wish I could change my country people thinking toward many things. But it’s not so easy, because I couldn’t change my family thinking in certain things. Culture play 90% role in my life and I can’t change anything because my family will not accept. There are so many things I want to change but I know my family will not be happy with it. Sometime I had to let go things from my hand because of my family, which they don’t think about.
