What would have happened if young Marcus Williams parents searched for ways to help him deal with his problems before they spiral out of hand. According to the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry said, "suicides among young people nationwide have increased dramatically in recent years. Each year in the U.S., thousands of teenagers commit suicide. Suicide is the third leading cause death for 15-to-24-years-olds, and the sixth leading cause of death for 5-to-14-year-olds.' They list the causes as, "strong feelings of stress, confusion, self-doubt, pressure to succeed, financial uncertainty, and other fears while growing up. For some teenagers, divorce, the formation of a new family with step-parents and step-sibling, or moving to a new community can be very unsettling and can intensity self doubts. For some teens, suicide may appear to be a solution to their problems and stress."
Marcus Williams was a young man, full of life, of love, and energy. But he made a decision that changed his family life for ever. At the age of fourteen he took his life, causing shock, grief and pain to everyone that loved him. One an ahalf years before his demise, Marcus' parents ,little sister kate,grandparents, cousins, Aunts and Uncles played a big part in his life, they were his world. His associates were kids form school and from the neighborhood, they demonstrated the same level of respect and appreciation for each other. The school that he attended was a happy place, however, he did experience his share of highs and lows that every child experience with no cause too worry. The only thing Marcus aand his friends had a problem with is him need to keep his thoughts and problems to himself, but yet he want to be the first one to try an solve their problems. Marcus could be stressing over things that his friends could help him out, but will not let them intervene. Even if it calls for his parents intervention, he would not go to them for help because he feel that he could do it himself, especially because he successfully help his friends out.
Marcus's life came to a turning point when his parents told him that the house they had a bid on came through. Marcus is now thirteen years old and on his last months in school. He knew one day it will happen, but he got so comfortable that he was not looking forward to it. Since he was five years old his family decided to start the process to buy a house. Eight years later they are able to see their hard work paid off. The family is about to move out from their apartment into a home in the suburb at the end of the summer. Marcus at this point was experiencing mix emotions. In one hand he was happy for his parents, but on the other hand he was sad for having to leave the neighborhood.
The move was ok, because his parents worked very hard to make transition easy and pleasant. An on labor day the family invited their friends and their relatives for a labor day get together. It was one of the happiness day of Marcus's life. Then school year started, and having to start all over was painfull for him, because the school he left was the only school he ever attended, and not one of his friends will be attending. The first day of school started like any other, smooth, but as the months preceeded it became harded and harded for him to deal. His school work was in the A and B, his teachers speak highly of him, so you couldn't tell if anything was wrong. His problem stem from some student out side of his class. He experience name calling, his books taking away from him and then escalated to pushing, shoving and finally hitting. This was not a one day thing, it became an everday thing.
Suicide, the act of one taking their life intentionally. Can life be so bad, that he or she feels that ending it all is the best way to go? Is it possible, that help can be given too potential victims of suicide that will help them make better choicest to handle their problems, without letting their problems handle them.
