Lies my mother told me.

When I was six years old, my mom told me a lie. She said that every Christmas, Santa Clause would bring presents to those kids who are on his goods list. Because she was my mom, I had no reason not to believe her. I was bad the whole year except on Christmas because I wanted to make up for all the bad things I’ve done during the year in one day.

The day before Christmas, I tried to act as nice as I can, and hope that Santa will forgive me for all the bad things that I’ve done during the year. That night, my dad suggested that I go to sleep early. It sounded strange because he never suggested that ever before except on Christmas Eve. Since I was trying to make up for all the bad things I’ve done, I when to bed early. Around 1 am, I was woken up by a sound. I quietly sneak out of my bed and walk to the door. I open the door a little bit and peaked outside. I saw a man with a T-shirt bending over next to the Christmas tree and putting something next to it. Because it was so dark, I can’t see exactly what it was. After waiting for a few minutes, he finally got up and turned around. It was my dad. After he left, I rushed to the tree from my room. I found out what he had placed next to the Christmas tree. It was Christmas presents. I gently put the presents down and quietly walk back in to my room. After I got back in to bed, I wondered why my mom lied to me. That night, I couldn’t sleep. I kept on turning back and forth in my bed.

The next day, my mom woke me up and said, “Why don’t you check under the tree to see if there is any presents from Santa”. I didn’t answer her because I was so angry with her. She looked at me and said, “What’s wrong”. Because I didn’t want to listen to her anymore, I got out of my bed and left my room. She followed me out to the living room and said, “Why don’t you open your gives”. I didn’t know why I listened to her. I guess it was because I still wanted to find out what I got for Christmas. I ripped open my gifts and saw an expensive game that I have wanted for months. I thought that I would never get this game because we were very poor back then. Once I saw that they bought me that game, I knew that my parents love me, and that is all that matters.

Every Christmas my mom would still tell me that if I was good, Santa would bring me presents. And every Christmas Eve, I would still try to act as good as I can because I know that the purpose of my mom's lie was to encourage me to be good.

Admin: This is better than the first version, but you still need to explain more clearly what general point or lesson is taught by your specific personal story. There are also still some proofreading problems.

I'm raising the grade.
