		<description>Yes, when Bush was talking some weeks ago about putting more money in the community colleges because they&#039;re important for job training, etc., one part of me was pleased, but another part couldn&#039;t help but suspect that those in power would  prefer people go to college for job training rather than to get a &quot;liberal education&quot;.
However, I think the article you referred to some posts back on connectivism only emphasizes the point that training for a specific set of (job) skills isn&#039;t going to get you as far as learning how to &quot;synthesize and recognize connections and patterns&quot; -  liberal education.</description>
